Medals
Mementos, prizes, awards, such as a gold medal, have been received by all ages over the globe. As a symbol of victory, especially in sports, medals have been given out over thousands of years. To show personal achievements made by an individual, medals were made to remind us of our goals achieved in life. Medals are made out of all kind metals, but the most common are the gold medals, silver medals and bronze medals. Some medals are purer than others, costing more than others. Gold MedalIf you were to win a gold medal in the Olympics it would be only worth $393, since the medal is only 6 grams of gold and the rest is silver. But in a game of chess a player by the name of Nguyen Thi Mai Hung, won a gold medal in Vietnam that was pure gold, being worth $10,000! Military MedalsAudie Leon Murphy, a famous name in American history, fought in World War II. In a 27 month period Mr. Murphy fought combat for his country and would return as the most decorated soldier with 37 medals. No American at that time would be awarded that many medals for fighting a war in the US. Mr. Murphy would live til’ the age of 44 and die in a plane crash almost 20 years later of his achievement. Still he is remembered for his service he committed to the United States. Medals MetalsMedals are made from 3 major metals. These metals designate the first three Ages of Man in Greek ages: the Golden Age (the gold medal), when men lived among the wise and mighty; the Silver age(the silver medal), where youth lasted a hundred years; and the Bronze Age(the bronze medal), the era of heroes. (The current age is called the Iron Age.) Gold medals are typically the highest medal awarded for achievement in a non-military field. The concept comes from the military, initially with a simple recognition of military rank, and later decorations for admission to military orders dating back to medieval times. Medieval Gold MedalAs you know medals have been around for a while now, awarded to those who performed an excellent act of some kind. From the late Middle Ages on, it was common for rulers and other wealthy persons to be awarded personal medals, often as large as three inches across, usually with their portrait on the obverse (front) and an emblem on the reverse of the medals. These were presented to friends and followers, or given to other rulers. They were not intended to be worn, although some were set as pendants on chains around the neck. They would often be produced in different metals, from gold to lead, depending on the status of the recipient. Sometimes medals to commemorate specific events, including military victories, were commissioned, and from this grew the military medal which later became an object to be worn, normally only given to military participants. Gold Medal HistoryThe history of the medal has been around for some time now. It doesn’t seem to fade away as the tradition of this small award still lives on. Being worth of a small value to some, gold medals will always be priceless to the owners who won them. |

Testimonials
The service was great and when I recieved the plaque, it was even more beautiful then I had imagined it would be. You were able to help us stay in our price range and did not change extra for an added word I submitted to you. The packaging was also very well done. Thank you, I'm certain the recipient will be pleased!
